{% endhint %}

#### Estimated Repair Time:

* 15 minutes

#### Tools you will need:

* T10 Torx bit + screwdriver&#x20;
* 1 or 2 magnets OR a very thin plastic pry tool

## Align the C or Z motor

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Disconnect NOVA from power

Ensure that NOVA is turned off with the power button and then unplug the power cable.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUfemsBggVvQ8Ff_ZVNRTmpkd158WPpBQ0B7CNAqRBrfkR_C0BAvXNGywtz5_gZki5GWEYspOsjUTN3nnPTMo00ktidX4Qc5NInz_X71B5vyUwBeWMLrLROkIDL03cMfzRGM1mBhnA=nw?key=FyXWpw1YygHPFuhH-bIybD7L" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Lower the problem port

With NOVA powered down, push the problem port (Left (C) or Right (Z)) down as low as it can go by placing both thumbs on the top of the port and supporting the module hub from below with your other fingers.

{% hint style="success" %}
Our support team should have told you which port to adjust. If you are unsure please reach back out to us!
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/HlY0PjuvCBFfmE3BZv8Y" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Remove the module hub top cover

Remove the magnetic top plate from the module hub using a strong magnet in one of the corners to lift it off OR use a pry tool to pry the top plate off.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUf4ambKbYsYGWTe3VtsLrJGefdhZDVPtM6EFpv9bTor7rOmwQBT-gNIDRlYBomQ8UZ0IhVKa5UEkyw76xV_KjZH_P_9Bv5b-FhHdLjGm-g4f8bBEj7C3RsNNh6NZ2TmkJXqrIOvn806VlBq9o7Z9LEuYgcRD38D=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Recenter the motor

Locate the 4 motor mount screws for the problem port.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUe5-7xF4sin1DVOunU-Xz7xZfrVnX76Pu3sEbycv-pmKOXpgeuxLC8EJzNFx1kq2QSWSwoDGi2YCwwjbjScrrshDjgTWrphVWk3XaMn8Zl2A-kMyMsaWNM5CpB4RVd_xJ6BATHgWeTgDa6FEPlA6dR1TlSkW89g=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Using a T10 Torx bit, loosen the 4 motor mount screws partially in a criss cross pattern.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Do not fully remove the screws, loosen just enough that the motor and screws can move freely in their slots.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUeT6u13iq1BefjOzvXVbOlib3SL37co1rY7wUy2iSFpZ9OgGkdnV72_if2lYsKxSUnI6IFLOesxG4u3rTu91saic50eOD91w1kbfJ7jj3gwPC5H4gbCnWRVqgjotkkxhRRzgOXoHNusYMWT7hBSBDf3qFpkxosc=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Place your thumb or index finger in the center of the motor and wiggle the motor around. The motor should have a place fairly central that it wants to rest in. It should not be touching an edge, but it may not be perfectly in the center.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUdWBiWHWL_2wXdTzJ5AcwJ23H3O01G9YatGQbSARytJltBdjrnbk_-BG9TCsk3abwYDcV0DKkD_C4U1tg11yLjK7Mvkq5r9_Ry4leo1S0evg7yPnCu4yOEMUwRggK3qSw6vLkyTaMss0t1F2i1mjKsdS-U8ibVw=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With the motor in it’s natural resting spot, tighten the motor mount screws by hand in a criss cross pattern.

{% hint style="success" %}
&#x20;If you have a impact driver available, tighten the screws down to setting 8 on the impact driver.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUeT6u13iq1BefjOzvXVbOlib3SL37co1rY7wUy2iSFpZ9OgGkdnV72_if2lYsKxSUnI6IFLOesxG4u3rTu91saic50eOD91w1kbfJ7jj3gwPC5H4gbCnWRVqgjotkkxhRRzgOXoHNusYMWT7hBSBDf3qFpkxosc=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Replace the module hub top cover

Place the magnetic top plate back on the top of the module hub.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/slidesz/AGV_vUeP34qcFnQmjwIa8xIr928rQR3gUsAQC64INoGWNrWOdNMVMU34qi5jb0JzO6yvhlyrLCdLFq4pj0uP0EwhDnB41rKssO2oHCsCjx85ty3QI-b9MTuZ7VCYDBHaZ4v97gUWrf3lP3dEmniSblT4Fwdg0Ne6aU3Z=nw?key=_3Jh3Q8wpqhM74LTjVJI6Q" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Turn NOVA back on!

You can now plug NOVA back in and turn it on using the power button.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Test the port

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Log into NOVA

<figure><img src="/files/133dOAuKTf9Z97p3X7AI" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open the command console

Enter the `~` or `` ` `` character to open the console.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/JXNnhMHhhfC4yRb1bbB6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Test the problem port

Run one of the following commands below to test for the error (C-Limit or Z-Limit).

{% hint style="info" %}
It’s worth running a few times to ensure that the error no longer comes up. If you do see the error, try aligning the motor one more time.
{% endhint %}

#### Command for Left (C) Port:&#x20;

```
(G01 C5;G28 C;G01 C10;G28 C;G01 C15;G28 C;)*3
```

#### Command for Right (Z) Port:

```
(G01 Z5;G28 Z;G01 Z10;G28 Z;G01 Z15;G28 Z;)*3
```

{% hint style="warning" %}
If the error is still present please reach out to our support team through email (<support@voltera.io>) or the chat for next steps.&#x20;
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.voltera.io/docs/repairs/nova/nova-repair-guides-catalog/simple-troubleshooting/c-or-z-motor-alignment.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
