Mobile Hotspot Connection
If you need to set up an internet connection and there is no WIFI or ethernet network available, then you can connect to NOVA through a mobile hotspot. Keep in mind, connecting to a mobile device will utilize its connection, so you may use up a large amount of data.
Mobile Wifi Hotspot Setup
On your mobile device, create a mobile 2.4GHz WIFI hotspot with the following credentials:
SSID: NOVA
Password: NOVA1234
On the iPhone personal hotspot uses a 5GHz connection by default. On iPhone 12 or later, you can turn on Maximize Compatibility for Personal Hotspot to use a 2.4 GHz connection.
This can be found in the hotspot settings.
While this may be slightly unique to your specific android device you should be able to configure which frequency band your mobile hotspot is broadcasting within the hotspot settings.
Select the 2.4 GHz band.
Connect your laptop to this network.
If NOVA is powered on and has a WIFI Dongle connected, it will automatically connect to this network. You may need to power cycle NOVA for a connection to be established.
