## Assembling Your Smart Dispenser

#### Step 1: Mount the pressure sensor

Open the dispenser door and insert the couple with the pressure window facing the pressure sensing pin in the dispenser body.

#### Step 2: Attach a nozzle

To attach your nozzle to the end of the coupler, hold the couple in place with your thumb, and twist the nozzle **clockwise**. Tightening by hand is all you need.&#x20;

**It’s very important to not overtighten the nozzle!**
{% endhint %}

#### Step 3: Secure the pressure sensor and nozzle

Close the dispenser door and secure it with the thumbscrew, tightening it **clockwise**.

#### Step 4: Insert a material

Remove the caps from both ends of your material’s cartridge and slide the cartridge into the dispenser body so it seats fully onto the coupler.

#### Step 5: Mount the motor plunger

Gently insert the motor plunger into the top of your material cartridge, aligning the notch on the motor body to the Voltera logo on the dispenser body. Once it bottoms out, twist the motor **90° clockwise** to lock it in place.

You now have a fully assembled smart dispenser that is ready to be mounted to NOVA.

## Disassembling Your Smart Dispenser

#### Step 1: Remove the nozzle

To protect the nozzle, you need to remove it first. Loosen the thumbscrew by rotating it **counterclockwise** on the dispenser door, and then open the dispenser door. There is a black collar on the coupler. Rotate the black collar **clockwise** to eject the nozzle. You will feel some resistance at first, then it should turn easily and release the nozzle.

Replace the nozzle with an orange tip cap to prevent air from entering the cartridge. Finally, close the dispenser door and secure it with the thumbscrew.

{% hint style="info" %}
Preventing air from entering the cartridge is the key to consistent prints and the longevity of your material. Introducing air pockets to your material can cause leakage and undesirable print results.
{% endhint %}

#### Step 2: Remove the motor plunger and material

Unlock the motor from the dispenser body by rotating the motor **90° counterclockwise**. Then, gently pull the motor along with the cartridge out of the dispenser body. Cap your material cartridge and gently remove it from the motor plunger.

<figure><img src="/files/gcJh7qRqGcbmRBnDQnAt" alt=""><figcaption><p>Removing the motor plunger and material</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 3: Remove the pressure sensor

Loosen the thumbscrew by turning it **counterclockwise** on the dispenser door and open the dispenser door. You’ll now be able to remove the orange cap from the coupler and remove the coupler for cleaning.

<figure><img src="/files/7iopdw24eHOCf3vAnpW5" alt=""><figcaption><p>Removing the pressure sensor</p></figcaption></figure>

You’re now all set for cleaning.

## Replacing A Nozzle Only

#### Step 1: Remove the old nozzle

To remove the nozzle, loosen the thumbscrew by turning it **counterclockwise** on the dispenser door, and open the dispenser door. There is a black collar on the coupler. Rotate the black collar **clockwise** to eject the nozzle. You will feel some resistance at first, then it should turn easily releasing the nozzle.

<figure><img src="/files/dskuAcrO3ZSSERrM4kyC" alt=""><figcaption><p>Removing an old nozzle</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Attach a new nozzle

Attach your nozzle to the end of the coupler by holding the coupler in place with your thumb and twisting the nozzle **clockwise**. Tightening by hand is all you need.&#x20;

{% hint style="danger" %}
**It’s very important to not overtighten the nozzle.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/D4imPsA79X7WC3SZKp1c" alt=""><figcaption><p>Replacing the nozzle</p></figcaption></figure>

You're now all set to continue printing.

## When To Use The Nozzle Wrench

If you find that your nozzle is too difficult to remove from the pressure sensor you can use the supplied nozzle wrench to loosen it. To use the wrench, start by loosening the thumbscrew by turning it **counterclockwise** on the dispenser door and opening the dispenser door. Hold the pressure sensor in place with your thumb and attach the small side opening of the wrench around the nozzle's plastic collar. Gently turn the nozzle **counterclockwise** to loosen it, then remove the nozzle the rest of the way by hand.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Never use the nozzle wrench to tighten a nozzle onto the pressure sensor. You may damage your pressure sensor.
{% endhint %}
